First Official Day

London is such an amazing city. There are these giant old buildings with so much history behind them, and then extremely modern skyscrapers with intense views and architecture. To say the least, this is a very busy city. I woke up early this morning to go to Starbucks (Fun fact: There are more Starbucks in London then in New York City), and I felt like I was about to get trampled. I had to literally run across crosswalks because of the crazy traffic and to keep up with everyone. Also today I found out where I'm taking my classes, which is about 40 min away if I were to walk. Therefore, we are mostly going to resort to the underground and bus system (which are double decker and so much fun). Because of this, a few of my friends and I decided to test out the tube system. Our mission was to get from our apartment to our classroom building. It was about a group of 10 of us, and getting on the tube ( which is equivalent to a subway but much cleaner), everything was fine, but getting off was a whole different story. Firstly, one of my friends got stuck between the doors while trying to exit the tube. It took some effort to get him out because the doors do not reopen automatically, but eventually we succeeded. As I literally pull my friend off the tube, it started moving again and watched it leave with one of my other friend's still on board because she could not get out in time. She did not have a phone and everyone else had left the underground because they didn't realize my friend was stuck on the train except for me. To make a long story short we finally found my other friend who was stranded on the tube alone and made it to our destination with a very funny story to tell. Later, we were taken on a small tour of this lovely city and saw places like Somerset House, and the beautiful view from the Waterloo Bridge (best view in the city). After all of our intriguing excursions today, jet lag has set in and I'm ready to sleep for as along as possible. I took some pictures while I was out today but I realized I am not the best photographer but I'll try my best.
